Linen Care

Machine Wash

New linen should be washed in cool water for the first few washes. We recommend to separate your linens from other items in the first wash. Future wash temperatures should be at 40°C. Should you have any stubborn stains, you can raise the temperature to 60°C. Avoid having too many items in the machine at once as this can cause your garment to twist, and become out of shape.

Hand Wash

Hand wash gently. Don’t twist or scrub your garment. Hand washing is great for lightly worn items that do not require a machine wash.

Detergent

We recommend a mild detergent without bleaching agents. A sustainable and eco-friendly option is a good choice. Avoid pouring directly on your garment, instead dilute in water first.

Drying

Wringing out linen isn’t a great option as it can stretch the fibres. Laying flat is the best choice, but line drying and tumbler drying are also ok. Sun drying is good for white linen as it helps retain the original white colour. Overdrying is really the most harmful as it weakens fibers, can cause shrinkage and pilling.

Shrinkage

We use washed linen, so it is highly resistant to shrinkage. However avoid washing on hot settings as this is most likely to further shrink your items.
